“Classically elegant architecture, stunning views and fantastic food”

Welcome to bookplate, the cafe restaurant at the National Library of Australia.

Our spectacular location makes us a hub of activity in the Library. Whether out on the Library verandah overlooking the lake, or inside cocooned by the Leonard French stained glass windows or just simply sitting in the foyer, you will find an eclectic mix of NLA visitors, staff, researchers and diners enjoying our hospitality.

But we are so much more than just a coffee shop. We are well known for our transformation from a cafe into a glorious private function venue where we cater in-house and and plan & host stylish award winning events.
